Dr. Bennie van der Merwe's recent visit to Canada to seek a stallion has paid dividends as champion Marchfield has been sold and will relocate to Moutonshoek Stud in South Africa.

The 9-year-old son of A.P. Indy formerly stood at Park Stud in Ontario and raced as a homebred for Eugene Melnyk. During his racing career, Marchfield captured the third leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the Breeders’ Stakes, and in the Grade 2 Autumn Stakes and Sky Classic Stakes.

Marchfield is out of the G1-placed Red Ransom mare Pico Teneriffe.
