Japanese invitee CAPOTE STAR is not coming to Singapore after connections decided to withdraw him from the Singapore Airlines International Cup (2000m) on May 19, but the $3 million International Group 1 race will now be welcoming the addition of Hong Kong’s most recent feature winner, DAN EXCEL.   Fresh from his fighting win in the HK$12 million Group 1 Champions Mile (1600m) last Sunday, DAN EXCEL will now join stablemate MILITARY ATTACK, himself a winner of the HK$14 million Group 1 Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2000m) a week earlier, to form a two-pronged attack for trainer John Moore in the Kranji showpiece.   An Irish-bred five-year-old by Shamardal, DAN EXCEL has often been around the mark in major races at Sha Tin, such as running second in the Group 1 Stewards’ Cup (1600m) and the Group 2 Chairman’s Trophy (1600m), before he finally went one better on Sunday .
