Anthony Delpech; Bernard Fayd'Herbe & Sean Cormack

RACE 1: Maiden Juvenile Plate 1000m Bend
CHANTECLER showed enough last time to suggest that he could cause an upset in the opener of the evening. That was despite a slow finish. He could have some improvement to come. STREETBOUNCER has had three runs and on paper and form looks to be the one that they all have to beat. Ran on in his first two but finished distressed last time. ATSO'S HILL will be saving his best work till late. Has the benefit of Anthony Delpech aboard. Should be a part of the trifecta. MEDITERRANEAN MAN (Dennis Drier/Sean Cormack) made a fair debut last time despite starting at 75/1. Not likely to start at those odds this evening. SHEIK'S BRASHEE made good late progress last time when making his debut. Looks to have some potential.
1st – CHANTECLER (12/1) (2); 2nd – STREETBOUNCER (1.2/1 F) (8); 3rd – ATSO'S HILL (1); 4th - MEDITERRANEAN MAN (5); 5th – SHEIK'S BRASHEE (7)
RACE 2: Allowance Plate 1600m Bend
RUN FOR IT (Justin Snaith/Sean Cormack) ran on well in the Drill Hall Stakes last time. Must never be forgotten that he ran just over a length behind IGUGU in the J & B Met eighteen months ago. WAGNER has lost some of his form since winning the Summer Cup last December. A change at the coast may improve him. Did not show in the Greyville 1900 last month. OTTIMO (Justin Snaith/Brandon Lerena) won the East Cape Guineas at Arlington last time. Could have more to find. LION'S ROAR (Justin Snaith) was not disgraced in the Winter Guineas at Kenilworth last time. Should find this tougher. GREYS INN CONTROL (Justin Snaith/Karis Teetan) takes on far stronger this evening. Could be improving but would be an unlikely winner.
1st – RUN FOR IT (Not Priced Up) (3); 2nd – WAGNER (1); 3rd – OTTIMO (2); 4th - LION'S ROAR (5); 5th – GREYS INN CONTROL (7)
RACE 3: Maiden Juvenile Plate 1600m Bend
CHERISHED (Charles Laird/Kevin Shea) makes his debut. This son of JAY PEG should give a good account of himself. Keep an eye on the betting. HUNTING HORN (Duncan Howells/Sean Veale) ran on when running his best race in three last time. AWARE (Gavin Van Zyl/Brandon Lerena) made a good debut last time. Should have something more o offer this evening. MYNAMEISBOND has had three rather dull runs. Could improve but not likely for the win. MANIEVIC (Vaughan Marshall/MJ Byleveld) did not show on debut last time. Fancy strong yard and jockey.
1st – CHERISHED (1.4/1 F) (3); 2nd – HUNTING HORN (7); 3rd – AWARE (2); 4th - MYNAMEISBOND (9); 5th – MANIEVIC (8)
RACE 4: Maiden Juvenile Plate (F) 1600m Bend
TITLEE (Mike De Kock) was not fancied on debut last time but ran a promising enough race to suggest that she could win her maiden sooner rather than later. Did stay on that day despite racing green. This Australian bred should win a few races. LEMONADE RIVER (Duncan Howells/Alec Forbes) has run three times in which her last two saw her finish good seconds. TRUE GIFT (Justin Snaith/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) has been close up in all four of her races. Has finished well in all four. BELT UP (Gavin Van Zyl/Brandon Lerena) made a fair debut last time. Was supported in the betting. Should improve on that run. AIRBENDER (Duncan Howells) has been improving since making her debut three runs ago.
1st – TITLEE (3/1) (11); 2nd – LEMONADE RIVER (2.2/1 F) (6); 3rd – TRUE GIFT (13); 4th - BELT UP (2); 5th – AIRBENDER (1)

RACE 5: Maiden Plate 1400m Bend
SOLE MIO (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) makes his debut. Is current ante post favourite. Keep an eye on this betting. TAOS (Vaughan Marshall/MJ Byleveld) also makes his debut. Should be suited to this distance being a son of SILVANO. KENTUCKY GUEST looks to be the best of those who have run. Is C & D suited and will be running on. HIGH ARROW was just pipped this C & D last time. Has a chance of earning this evening. A P STRIKE was green on debut last time but did finish well. Bernard Fayd'Herbe has the ride.
1st – SOLE MIO (1.2/1 F) (11); 2nd – TAOS (12); 3rd – KENTUCKY GUEST (2); 4th - HIGH ARROW (1); 5th – A P STRIKE (8)
RACE 6: Maiden Plate 1000m Bend
EDDIE SWEAT raced wide into the straight when making his debut this C & D last time. Was only half a length back in fourth. CAPE CUTTER (Justin Snaith/Sean Cormack) has raced twice for two thirds. Ran on when making his KZN debut at Clairwood last time. CINEMA SCOPE (Gavin Van Zyl/Brandon Lerena) may have been slow to start last time but came home full of running. Just failed to catch FAT CHANCE. Must have a shout. RAD ROCK runs for the fifteenth time. Faded last time but had been running on before that. SIR ALBERT (Sean Tarry) got going too late on debut last time. Watch for improvement this evening.
1st – EDDIE SWEAT (4.5/1) (10); 2nd – CAPE CUTTER (1.4/1 F) (9); 3rd – CINEMA SCOPE (5); 4th - RAD ROCK (8); 5th – SIR ALBERT (7)
RACE 7: Grade 2 Post Merchants (R350 000) 1200m Bend
WELWITSCHIA (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) is a top class sprinter who has contested some of the top sprints in the country but has had her problems at the start where she invariably loses lengths at the jump. Were she to overcome that she would have won many more sprints in her career to date. Takes on the "boys". MERHEE (Mike De Kock/Sean Veale) was far from disgraced in the Golden Horse three weeks ago. Was running on that day for third. WILD TYPE (Gavin Van Zyl/Brandon Lerena) ran on well to finish in front of MERHEE last time and is 2½kg worse off than MERHEE for being a length in front. Ran on that day. CAP ALRIGHT (Justin Snaith/Kevin Shea) had his excuses in the Golden Horse. Had good form going into that race. Will improve on that effort. CAPTAIN'S SECRET (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) got cramped in the same race last time. Has something to find. Is definitely distance suited: 17(4-3-2).
1st – WELWITSCHIA (4/1 F) (8); 2nd – MERHEE (10); 3rd – WILD TYPE (5); 4th - CAP ALRIGHT (1); 5th – CAPTAIN'S SECRET (2)
RACE 8: MR 80 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Bend
ARABIAN SUNSET (Gavin Van Zyl/Brandon Lerena) will be running on and enjoys the track. DAME DU BOIS (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) is currently in good form. Did not run to expectations last time even though she finished a good second. Would probably have won had she not been slow away and hung too. Has won this C & D. LANGOUSTIER has won her last two but yet to run this far. The will be a question mark here! LINEAL FACTOR was not disgraced in a feature at Kenilworth when last racing. Has the ability. JE 'TAIME is holding form well and will be finishing nicely.
1st – ARABIAN PRINCESS (7/1) (2); 2nd – DAME DU BOIS (1.4/1 F) (4); 3rd – LANGOUSTIER (5); 4th - LINEAL FACTOR (1); 5th – JE 'TAIME (6)
RACE 9: MR 72 Hcp (F & M) 1600m Bend
MICHELLE MY BELL is never far back and will be running on. Has faced stronger. One to consider. TARA DAWN (Dennis Drier/Sean Cormack) has very good post maiden form and will also be running on. First time this far. TRENDY BABE (Gavin Van Zyl/Karis Teetan) was not disgraced in her post maiden run last time over a bit shorter. May prefer shorter. ARTISTICALLY DONE has been dropping in the ratings. Has placed this C & D on three occasions from seven starts. MASAI PRINCESS has not won for ages now. Could place but is not that too reliable.
1st – MICHELLE MY BELLE (7/1) (1); 2nd – TARA DAWN (3.5/1 F) (6); 3rd – TRENDY BABE (7); 4th - ARTISTICALLY DONE (2); 5th – MASAI PRINCESS (3)
