Intercontinental, a 4th Maiden Cup for Rousset Stable in record time

Rousset Stable is back in the title race as it has won the most prestigious race of our racing calendar, 'The Phoenix Maiden Cup', with Intercontinental, ridden by Johnny Geroudis. Intercontinental has thus obtained his 10th win at the Champ de Mars, in record time for the 2400m trip, clocking 2min26.85s. It is the 4th win for Rousset Stable in the Maiden Cup, after To The Line, Mr Brock and Captain's Knock.

Not Liable (Boutanive) was the first one out of the gates before Ice Axe (Latham) and Vettel (Victoire) went past him.
Vettel took the lead after 300m, while Intercontinental was running one-off in 5th position, but was very relaxed.
At the 300m post, Vettel was still in front but his rivals had started their move and, in the home straight, Intercontinental accelerated impressively to get the better of Gujadhur Stable's horse.
Not Liable (Boutanive) fought on well for 3rd place ahead of Acuppa (Ségeon).
