HABIB TO CONTEST HH SHEIKHA FATIMA BINT MUBARAK APPRENTICE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP (IFAHR) IN FRANCE

Apprentice Calvin Habib is on his way to Tarbes, France this weekend, to contest the 10th race of the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship (IFAHR) to be held at the Tarbes Racecourse on Sunday 15 October.

Calvin is very excited to be representing South Africa and said “It is an honour to be chosen to represent the Academy and South Africa by participating in an international race in France. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to compete internationally!” Calvin is in decent form having already had 5 winners and 17 places in the new season and will represent South Africa and the Academy proudly in France.

One thing that is for certain, is that the international apprentices will be keeping a close eye on Calvin, especially after Mpume Mjoka’s victory earlier this year in the Prix Longines Future Racing Stars at the Chantilly Racecourse, aboard BEAUPREAU, trained by Danny de Waele. As well as Kersley Ramsamy’s victory in the same apprentice race at Tarbes Racecourse in France last year aboard, THABIT, trained by Francisco Sanchez. It seems South African apprentices enjoy French racing!
