The light weight filly Girl On The Run ran the race of her life when she found extra in the final furlong and nosed to victory in the Victory Moon Stakes Grade 3.

The Janse Van Vuuren stable inmate was handy throughout the contest just off the early pace by no further than a length and bit behind the early leaders. She tracked the front runners with ease until being asked for an effort and rallied gamely. The equally impressive Coral Fever ran on well from the back of the field to almost capture this contest but was beaten by the bob of the nose at the wire. Donovan Mansour beat the might Muzi Yeni in this close finish in a great renewal of this event.

Abashiri was only 4 lengths back shoulders the top weight and giving 12 kgs to the winner. He was the best performed runner in the event given the weight. It was a nice run for his pending Summer Cup date.
