Scottsville Abandoned, Jockeys Protest

Today’s Scottsville race meeting was abandoned after the running of the barrier trial and the first race.

The official reason given was “due to inconsistency in the track”, and followed a protest by the jockeys following the running of the first race.

The card changes bulletin at 10:30 this morning reported that there had been 3 mm of rain in the past 24 hours and a mere 13mm in the past seven days. The penetrometer reading was 31 however, with the going listed on heavy.

The two events run both took place in sunshine.

The only official race run was won by Dennis Drier’s Immortelle. The Querari debutante won by a length under Sean Veale. Tabnews
