Legislate Zips in Trial

The Barrier Trial innovation in Kzn is one of the best things to happen to racing in the province and it was all on show when the highest profile horse since the trials started, Legislate, stuttered his stuff.

It gets no bigger than a comeback from a former Vodacom July winner and horse of the year and he didn't disappoint.

The Snaith star back from Stud duties eat up the turf in the 1200m trial as he eased into his work and then ran away with easy in his trail. He was in total control.

His well being was tested and he came out with flying colours. This isn't the July or any big grade 1 race quality but he did look fresh and happy as a 7 year old, the dream of a second July could be on. He is currently trading at 40/1.

Snaith when interviewed stated the following about his star, "He hadn't been to the course in 2 years. He is heavy and had only one gallop. We will see how he is but his long term aim in the Queens Plate. Gold challenge is race  that's looking weaker than normal and that is certainly a race we would look at. Kudos to Gold Circle T for bringing the best horses here and you wouldn't see Legislate if it wasn't for them."

Snaith didn't get ahead of himself with no mention of the July but anything can happen if he runs in the Gold Challenge.
