Undercover Agent takes the Rising Sun

Rising Sun chief Vijay Maharaj claimed before the race that his fancy was Undercover Agent and so it told true as the successful Rising Sun Gold Challenge race day ended with a smashing win by the Brett Crawford runner in the main event in front of tens of thousands at Greyville on a sunny winters Durban Day

The race pace played into the hands of the ultra talented Undercover Agent as Captain America dictated a slow run race over the challenging Greyville mile with Snowdance and Sail South sitting just off the pace. Snowdance was on the outside of the aging but game Sail South with a sprint for the line on the offing.

As they entered the straight Snowdance had her race cut out for her after they started the home run with Undercover Agent kicking the best from his ideal position behind the pace with Lyle Hewitson onboard. Snowdance tried her heart out against the older and top class milers present in this event but it was fellow 3 year old Undercover Agent who took the race by the scruff of the neck. He kicked clear and proved hard to catch after taking the lead at the 250m mark. Snowdance, the game filly just couldn't run down the up and coming Undercover Agent and was ultra impressive in defeat.

Brett Crawford won this race last year with Captain America and thanked his team for the effort with special mention to Peter Muscutt and the stable hands.
