Insight into the horse racing Lucky 15

Of all the various terms used in horse racing, none are quite as hard for newcomers to understand as the Lucky 15. Backing your own bets can be massively entertaining when it comes to horse racing but it’s almost impossible to do that when you aren’t fully clued up on how all of the betting markets work. Lucky 15 bets are one of the most popular methods of betting on horse racing, but many novices overcomplicate exactly what they are.

While many are yet to understand what Lucky 15s are and how they work, there are some websites that specialise in providing horse tips for every possible market. One place you’ll always find recommended bets and predictions for Lucky 15 bets is on The Winners Enclosure’s Daily Lucky 15 Tips page

What is a Lucky 15?

Rather than backing specific horses to win or place, the Lucky 15 option offers more than just one chance to win. It can be found on your betslip after selecting four horses in the section where you’d normally choose from a double, a treble, or an accumulator but with a glaring difference. With a Lucky 15, your stake goes towards backing a four-fold accumulator, four singles, six doubles and four trebles, which are combined from all four nags you’ve backed.

Due to the fact that fifteen separate bets are being backed at the same time, your stake will be fifteen times whatever you enter in. This usually results in a £15 bet, but you can put on as little or as much as you like, with an Each Way version also available but with it then amounting to thirty times your original stake.

What are the perks of backing a Lucky 15?

If you’re actively looking to bet on horse racing, Lucky 15 betting is one of the most favourable ways to go because you could take some returns even if not all of your horses win their races. As there’s so many bets being placed in one massive selection, you’re rewarded with returns for every winning part of your bet. For instance, if two horses won and two lost, you’d be rewarded with the singles for those horses, as well as for the double that both horses were involved in.

It’s unlikely that there’ll ever be a time where you can completely avoid losing your bet but by backing a Lucky 15, you at least offer yourself another chance of coming away with something. They aren’t solely limited to horse racing either, with the option to pick four football selections for a footy Lucky 15 being an interesting way to back four likely outcomes.
