One Day Forever Khanya

Khanya Sakayi would hope that this was one day he could repeat forever, like a batsmen's century at Lord's or a standing ovation at Eden Gardens, this day was one to remember for 20 year old Apprentice Sakayi as he rode home four classy winners at Greyville, the most hallowed turf in South African racing.

On a well sponsored day at a competitive meet in KZN which looked a difficult card, supporters of Sakayi would have taken home the pie backing Sea Urchin, Lickerio, Itdawnedonme and then a close call onboard the last race winner, Just Rap.

The 14 time winning apprentice was led home on his third winner by the South African Jockey Academy lads in a memorable moment for all the the Academy.

It was a surely a day to remember for his riding masters, the headmaster and all the hard working staff of the academy as one of their 'boys' stole the show at Greyville on a card that featured world class riders like Anton Marcus, Mark Khan and Muzi Yeni, all graduates of this world class academy.

On a side note but not a lesser one, too class apprentice Luke Ferraris also rode home a winner. Apprentices rode home five winners on the eight race card.
