The Racing Stewards concluded the Aspara and Maxamore cases this morning.

Gilbert Rousset has been handed a 12-month disqualification for the Maxamore case, while he has been fined Rs 100,000 for the Aspara matter.

It is worth noting that Mr Gavin Glover, the lawyer of Gilbert Rousset, had already stated on November 13th, that his client would appeal against both sanctions.

Gilbert Rousset successfully defended his crown in 2017, 30 years after winning his first championship when trainer for Hugues Maigrot stable.

Under his orders, Great Gusto (1987), Mr Brock (2008) and Disa Leader (2010) have all been crowned Horse Of The Year.

He has the most wins of any trainer at Champ de Mars, and he managed to score his 800th win on Maiden Cup day last September. He will be looking to make it a hat-trick of title wins in 2018.
