Super Sire Dynasty Dies

The stallion darling of the South African Turf, Dynasty has died following a colic operation.

It was reported that he died peacefully in his stable at Highlands after resting and not waking up again.

Dynasty sired some of South Africa's great racehorses including Legislate and Futura. He also won the Vodacom Durban July and was trained by Dean Kannemeyer.

Dynasty was almost never to be seen on South African shores as a sire had a deal worth millions been accepted by his owners to sell him overseas. That was apparently turned down, he was subsequently injured and later retired to Stud.

He shaped the breed in South Africa in those ensuing years and now has a host of mares that will carry his name and blood.

He sired 25 Group 1 winners and three Horses of the Year in South Africa. He has the high class Grade 1 winning filly Front And Centre currently in training.

Dynasty was only 19. He was managed by long time agent and purchaser John Freeman. A better horse he could not have dreamt off. What a Ride!
