Thompson, Melham, Krisna suspended

RACE 2: [TF: 0909]

App T Krisna, the rider of AIR COMBAT, in the presence of Apprentice Jockey Coach, Mr Matthew Pumpa, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 1400m, he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting inwards, when insufficiently clear of ALWAYS INNOCENT (B Melham) and as a result, that horse had to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App Krisna that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 26 July 2019 and Sunday, 28 July 2019.

App Krisna was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 29 July 2019 to Friday, 09 August 2019 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

B Melham, the rider of ALWAYS INNOCENT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 450m, he permitted his mount to shift outwards, when not clear of DAWNING GOLD (M Rodd), resulting in that horse shifting outwards, when not clear of FORT MUSTANG (JP Van Der Merwe), which had to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Melham that he has been engaged to ride at the Australian Race Meeting on Wednesday, 24 July 2019.

Jockey Melham was suspended from riding in races with effect from Thursday, 25 July 2019 to Friday, 02 August 2019 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 4: [TF: 0911]

B Thompson (pictured), the rider of PENNSYLVANIA, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 1300m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards to a point where insufficiently clear of STAR EMPIRE (J Powell), which in turn shifted inwards tightening the running of CENTURION (App WH Kok), which became unbalanced and had to be checked.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record and the degree of interference and carelessness.

Jockey Thompson was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 12 August 2019 to Friday, 23 August 2019 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

This penalty will be served consecutively following the completion of his suspensions from Monday, 22 July 2019 to Friday, 02 August 2019 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days) and Saturday, 03 August 2019 to Sunday, 11 August 2019 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days).
