The much awaited international debut of Last Winter is set to take place at Sandown in a listed event that has attracted the top UK jockeys and some interesting runners in the UK.

Last Winter has had a pretty unlucky time of things since he left South Africa 20 months ago when he jarred himself three times, twice in Mauritius and once on Dubai under Mike De Kock. He was in England after his Mauritius quarantine stint then in Dubai and back to England, now under Sir Michael Stoute.

The listed event has attracted the likes of Godolphin's runners Wooton and Silver Line and jockeys Frankie Dettori, Oisin Murphy, William Buick and Andrea Atzeni.

The South African is expected to need the run but the jockey booking says enough of the rating of the horse by the stable. He is also officially the highest rated horse in the contest.
