HANDICAPPING RATINGS UPDATE

Laisserfaire Stakes (Handicap) (Listed)

HELLO WINTER HELLO has had her rating raised from 96 to 99 following her win in the Listed Laisserfaire Stakes (handicap) for fillies and mares over 1100m at Kenilworth on Saturday 7 November.  The Handicappers were unanimous in their view that runner-up PHIL’S DANCER made for the most appropriate line horse, and as such her rating remains unchanged on 98.

The winner aside, there were no other increases for any other runners, but four horses received rating drops.  BOOMPS A DAISY drops from 88 to 86, HILDEGARDE is down from 97 to 95, DELTA QUEEN was cut from 98 to 95, and lastly BAD HABIT is down to 83 from 85.

Woolavington Stakes (Listed)

CROME YELLOW has had his rating raised from 104 to 106 after he captured the Listed Woolavington Stakes over 2400m at Kenilworth on Saturday.  The Handicappers elected to use 4th placed CAT DADDY as the line horse here, which leaves his rating unchanged on 101.

In rating the race this way, 2nd placed HOLY WARRIOR runs to a mark of 98, but because the specific conditions of the race do not allow a ratings increase for placed horses he remains on a mark of 84.  It follows that no other horses – aside from the winner – received a ratings’ increase either, but three horses were given a drop.

MAGNIFICENT SEVEN is down from 108 to 106, KAMPALA CAMPARI drops from 114 to 110, and lastly CEDAR MAN is down from 98 to 95.
