Terzi returns home

Another Trainer lost to the ranks, this time Gokhan Terzi has decided to call time on his South African time and return home to Zimbabwe. South Africa is littered with ex Zimbabwean born trainers who have made this country a home. Many of them are successful but in these trying times, it's not easy training horses.

Terzi commented on his social media, "Our SA adventure is coming to an end..... after 4 yrs of hard work and trying to prove myself in the industry, I feel a change is needed and its time to go back to my roots to reignite my passion for the game.. !!!

Racing in South Africa has taught me so much, and has given me my proudest moment when TANDAVA won the Grade 2 Senor Santa handicap at Turffontien race course 3yrs ago... That was a special day. Thank you Jarryd Penny for being the pilot on that occasion.

I was also able to find a horse who has crept into my heart - FINCHATTON... !! Special horse who continues to shine at 9 years of age..We on our way for the title of Horse of the year in Zimbabwe, with the Zim Tankard being his main mission this year...

Lots of ups and downs over the past 4yrs, and I must truly thank Gengiz Goksel for the support during my time here in SA.. No regrets, and maybe i'll be back with another champ in the making...

Thank you to all the Terzi team supporters.. It has been great to meet new people in the game.
Last but not least - Ash Fortune , the kindest, loyal and true friend that anyone could ask for.. I wish you and Andrew Fortune all success as you continue to keep the winners rolling in. Andrew rode my first ever winner In SA, which is also a day I'll never forget.."
