Defending champion Classique Legend remains favourite for The Everest (1200m) after connections plucked barrier five at Tuesday's draw at Bondi Beach.

Les Bridge's pin-up sprinter, who jumped from barrier six in last year's edition of the $15 million race, is a clear $4 favourite with Sportsbet ahead of Nature Strip ($4.40), who was allocated barrier 10.

Another of the likely speed influences, Joe Pride's Eduardo, will jump from barrier seven.

While the barrier draw had little effect on the market, those who did firm in betting were South Australian star Gytrash ($9 after drawing barrier one) and three-year-old Home Affairs ($11 after drawing barrier six).

Racing NSW confirmed that the emergencies for Saturday's race are Kementari, Signore Fox, Standout and Chat.
