2022 Dubai World Cup Carnival

With several new races taking the prize pot to around $40 million, the 2022 Dubai World Cup Carnival will begin on 13th January to 26th March at the Meydan Racecourse. The Super Saturday card, which the Emirates Airline will be sponsoring, is scheduled for 5th March 2022 and it will welcome the new additional race – the 1400m Ras Al Khor with a $300,000 prize pot. 

The prize pot for the famed Dubai World Cup night with three group 2 races and six grade ones has been increased to $30.5 million and it's set to take place on 26th March 2022. The Dubai racing club has also revealed that the Group 1 Dubai Turf will be increased to $5 million, while the Emirates Airline-sponsored Dubai World Cup will have the highest purse at $12 million. 

2022 Pegasus World Cup 

South Florida is the place to be for the Pegasus world cup. The sixth edition of the horse racing event is scheduled to commence on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The prize money for the event is 4 million dollars for the Pegasus world cup invitational and the Pegasus world cup turf invitation, with 2% of the winnings given back to the thoroughbred aftercare. 

2022 Kentucky Derby

The famous Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, 7th May 2022 at the Churchill Downs racetrack in Kentucky. Major contenders for the race include Gunite Gun Runner, Modern Games Dubawi, Pappacap Gun Runner, Tiz The Bomb, Wit Practical Joke, Mackinnon American Pharoah, and Major General Constitution, to name a few. 

According to the organizers, there are no major changes in the 2022 Kentucky Derby, unlike the 2021 edition. The only difference is the addition of one more race to make a total of 37 races, one more than the 2021 edition, with 21 for the Kentucky Derby pre-season and 16 for the Kentucky Derby championship season.
