Update: Chris Caserta has pass away.... 

Popular jockey Chris Caserta is missing following a late night swim on the Gold Coast.

The 26-year-old former Victorian hoop, who moved up to Queensland in November last year, was with a trackwork rider when they got into trouble.

The trackwork rider was saved, however Caserta remains missing.

A frantic search is now underway to find Caserta.
