Flightline, the star of the horseracing world of late, has been retired to Stud. The key next question was the price to access him and that was revealed yesterday.

Lane's End announced that Flightline would stand at a whopping USD 200k in his first season.

The hype of the 2.5 percent share sale for USD 4.6m (Total value: USD 187m) of Flightline was, in the end, a marketing coup.

Dubawi, the one of the most successful stallions in Europe this season, stands at 350k pounds from 250k. Frankel is now 275k pounds up from 200k pounds. He is the current highest earning sire in Europe.

The sheer scale of the Flightline service sets him even higher than his sire and makes him one of the highest prices stallions in the world. Yet he hasn't even covered a mare nor shown his ability at stud to produce champions, such is his hype. 

He is also bound to be given the best chance at stud with a full book of mares and likely the best mares available.
