Warren Kennedy gets his first Grade 1 win in New Zealand on old timer Defibrillate

It was a first Gr1 for horse and jockey in New Zealand. He won the WFA Zabeel Classic over 2050m. Kennedy, the current South African Champion, left South Africa for the cooler climes of New Zealand late this year and has since had success in his short stint.

Kennedy rode the older horse from a mid field position though the race and then angled him into the middle of the straight to win going away.

It was the geldings first Grade 1 success ever as an 8 year old.
