Indian Star Jockey Breaks Through in Australia, wants to ride in SA

Suraj Narredu breaks Through in Australia

Indian star jockey Suraj Narredu (38) has achieved another milestone,  this time in Australia by winning for the first time there.

He's on a current 3 month stint in Victoria and broke through at Kilmore. His family was in attendance with his father and wife on hand to receive him at the winners enclosure. They are with him until the middle of May and he stays for another 6 weeks.

Narredu reckons it was his longest 'dry' spell of his career without a winner.

Suraj has never raced in South African but his namesake and uncle Malesh was in the country in 2005 with two other Indian jockeys.

Narredu commented, "Thank you @SAHorseracing!! I've never ridden in South Africa yet. But it's definitely on my bucket list. Hopefully soon."
