Pacaya Confirms Form In 1900

The old Miracle Mowers 1900, then Greyville 1900 by its true name and the sponsor variant recently, the WSB 1900 used to be a warm up that had insights into the Durban July. This is no longer the case but it still stacks up as a lovely race and a Grade 2 to boot.

This year, Pacaya found all of his best form to beat home a decent field in the '1900'. The horse won a controversial race last time out in that he collared Quasiforsure on the wire after Josh Solomons dropped his hands in the final stages and lost onboard Quasiforsure. Pacaya ran on like a ball of fire on that day and showed the same devastating turn of foot this time as well. He beat home Winchester Mansion and Rascallion who ran the best race for his weight giving 8 kgs to the winner for a length beating.

Quasiforsure was well beaten and looked like he didn't stay at this class level. He went off as the favourite beaten 3.35 lengths.

Punters who wanted a clearer picture for the Durban July, didn't seem like that got one as the big race remains as open as ever.
