The comingled Hong Kong World Pool will be descending on Turffontein for Champions Day according to reports from Hong Kong.

4Racing and especially Joburg racing have been left out of the World Pool circuit since inception and that could change in due course.

As 4RACING have made no official announcements as yet, but it seems likely that Champions Day, the third day of 'The Championships' on the 6th of April will be marked as a World Pool event. This has been a plan in the making for some time since the inception of 'The Championships' - a feature rich calendar of events that was conceptulised in late 2022 and took place between February and April 2023. The 4 Day festival of racing concludes with 'The Championships Finale' on day 4.

The World Pool means that local tote punters will play into huge Hong Kong based pools and also means a financial windfall for the operator of the pool. 

The CEO of 4Racing, Fundi Sithebe, was spotted in Los Angeles for the WOTA conference where she presented and in Hong Kong during the Hong Kong International Races. It seems as though her hard work has paid off in a landmark deal for 4Racing with the Hong Kong Jockey Club. 

South Africa currently hosts the Cape Met as a world pool event as well as the KZN Gold Cup day which the HKJC sponsored last year.
