Jockey, Trainer in charge disagree with Dead Heat post race Comments

Miss Argonaut won an excellent race for Peter Muscutt and owner Jason Muragasa at Kenilworth on Saturday.

However, it was the baffling comments from respected Cape jock Aldo Domeyer that has shocked both the trainer in charge Piet Steyn (expressed in a post race interview), who kept the horse for Peter Muscutt, and whilst the maestro trainer made his way back to homebase, Durban.

Steyn say post race that he'd have to chat to Domeyer about his comments made about sharing the race or deadheating.

Domeyer claimed that the race should be shared when there is such a close affair with Brett Crawford's Mauritian Kestrel and went onto say that if there is a certain margin difference then the race should be shared. "I'll have to talk to him about that, not sure what that means," said Steyn.

3 min 20 mark when the jockey stated, "A little disappointed when they taking that long to separate us, I can't just see why it can't be a deadheat. Unfortunately the spoils get taken away from him, I think it's something we could have shared, but it's something we can look at in the future. I think there should be a margin when the horses hit the line together there should be a margin they could enter and using that line they should be able to share the spoils..." claimed Domeyer.

The baffling comments by a now freelance jockey comes as a surprise to racing fans. Jockeys are there to ride and trainers to train, the judging needs to be handled by the judges on the day and should be left to their work.
