World Record 10 million filly buyer won't pay full price

Debbie Kepitis won't have to spend an eight-figure sum to settle her account with Inglis after acquiring Winx's $10 million yearling at Monday's Easter Yearling Sale. As one of Winx's three part-owners, along with Peter Tighe and the late Richard Treweeke's family, Kepitis retains a 33.3% share of the legendary mare.

This one-third share also represented her ownership of the Pierro filly before Monday's sale, where she effectively bought out her co-owners at a valuation of $10 million. While initially not planning to repurchase the filly when it was decided to list her at the Easter Sale, Kepitis' bond with the horse strengthened in the lead-up to the auction.

Now, Kepitis' Woppitt Bloodstock will need to part with $6.6 million, representing two-thirds of the total sale price, to finalize the purchase of the filly, who will be under the tutelage of Chris Waller.

It's currently uncertain whether Kepitis will race the filly alongside any other partners.
