Tony Peter scored a major coup in Hollywood country when he took out the major Grade 1 Juvenile race of the season in the 1600m Grade 1 Champions Stakes at Greyville.

The draw always plays a huge role in these Juvenile races at the right Greyville circuit and it proved to be so as the well drawn VJ'S ANGEL rocked and rolled on the middle of the track to run down the dualing two, The Specialist and Grand Crescendo who ultimately were beaten into 2nd and third respectively with a rough dual between the two.

Calvin Habib hit the go button in the straight and there was a smart response as his mount found plenty on the pair and won.

The Specialist was game in defeat as he had the better draw this time around and it showed turning the form around with Cosmic Speed. Family Law who led faded away as The Specialist took over at the business end only to be run down late.

Varsfontein bred another star and sire Gimmethegreenlight won the race again with his progeny as he did with Sandringham Summit last year.
