Trainer Dylan Cunha continued his sharp buying streak at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale, teaming up with Jon Thompson to purchase Gun Carriage from the Coolmore Stud draft for 65,000 guineas.
The promising colt boasts a solid pedigree—he’s by Gun Runner, one of America’s leading sires, and out of the Arch mare Special Event. From just two starts, Gun Carriage has already shown ability, winning once and earning a 92 official rating, making him one of the more eye-catching prospects in the catalogue.
After the success of Prague, Cunha and Thompson appear to have found another potential star. Gun Carriage will undergo routine veterinary checks before heading to Dubai, where he’s expected to continue his career.
Cunha’s strategic approach to sourcing high-quality bloodlines has earned him growing recognition, and this latest acquisition underlines his intent to expand his international footprint. “He’ll head to Dubai after a trip to the vets,” Cunha quipped, capturing the upbeat mood surrounding the purchase.
