Kyprios to Stand at The Beeches Stud for 2026

Kyprios, one of the outstanding stayers of the modern era, will embark on his stallion career in 2026 when he stands at The Beeches Stud under the Coolmore National Hunt banner. The Moyglare Stud-bred son of Galileo will command a fee of €5,000.

Raced in the familiar Moyglare colours and trained throughout by Aidan O’Brien, Kyprios retires as Ballydoyle’s most prolific Group 1 winner. His legacy was defined by an extraordinary dominance of the staying division, highlighted by a flawless campaign in 2022 when he completed a rare clean sweep of the Ascot Gold Cup, Goodwood Cup, Irish St Leger and Prix du Cadran.

After an injury-disrupted 2023 season, Kyprios returned in 2024 to achieve the same remarkable quartet again, underlining both his resilience and his exceptional class at the highest level.

“Kyprios is an exceptionally good-looking horse with a truly outstanding race record,” said Robert McCarthy. “He won more Group 1 races than any horse ever trained by Aidan O’Brien, which speaks volumes about his quality. He won his first Prix du Cadran by 20 lengths which must surely be a record winning margin for a Group 1 race. In total, he won 17 races and was unbeaten in his final nine starts. We are thrilled to welcome one of the all-time great stayers to The Beeches.”

Across his career, Kyprios amassed 17 victories and closed his time on the track with a nine-race unbeaten streak, confirming his place among the elite long-distance performers of recent decades.

“Kyprios is a very, very special horse and it was a privilege to have trained him,” said Aidan O’Brien. “He has an unbelievable capacity for covering any amount of distance. He obviously has an incredible heart and lungs.”

With his blend of durability, elite performance and deep staying pedigree, Kyprios now turns the page to a new chapter, offering National Hunt breeders access to a proven champion whose race record sets a formidable standard.
