Rolston Joins Yulong To Lead Expanding Global Racing Operation

Yulong has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of respected international racing executive Danny Rolston, who leaves the Hong Kong Jockey Club after four years to take up the newly created position of Head of Racing. The move places Rolston in charge of the management, strategy and continued development of one of the world's fastest-growing thoroughbred racing and breeding operations.

Rolston completed his tenure with the Hong Kong Jockey Club following last week's successful Hong Kong International Sale and will relocate to Victoria, where he will be based at Yulong's Nagambie property. He is scheduled to commence his new role on August 1.

Rolston has been seen in South Africa at major sales as in other jurisdictions around the world. He was also responsible for the purchase of the two SAF breds sold at the recent HK sale.

The appointment marks another significant step in Yulong's continued expansion. Rolston will oversee the operation's global racing interests as the organisation continues to invest heavily across multiple international jurisdictions.

His arrival follows another notable addition to the Yulong team, with leading bloodstock agent James Harron recently joining the operation in a consultancy capacity as the business expands its presence in the Hunter Valley following the acquisition of Segenhoe Stud.

International Experience Strengthens Yulong

Rolston brings extensive international experience to the position. Before joining the Hong Kong Jockey Club, he spent 18 years with New Zealand Bloodstock and also held roles with Godolphin in both North America and the United Arab Emirates, giving him broad exposure to major racing and breeding markets.

That background aligns with Yulong's increasingly global footprint. The operation maintains a broodmare band of more than 600 mares in Australia alongside a substantial racing team, while its European interests include Ace Stud, the UK-based breeding operation managed by Yuefang Zhang and Harris Li. The racing division of that business competes under the Forz Europe banner.

Supporting Continued Growth

The appointment reflects Yulong's commitment to strengthening its leadership structure as the operation continues to expand both on the track and in the breeding sector.

With a rapidly developing racing team and significant investment across Australia and Europe, Rolston assumes responsibility for guiding the next phase of Yulong's global racing programme as the organisation continues to build its international presence.
