Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum has purchased Group 1 winner Maids
Causeway as a broodmare prospect in a private deal with owner Martin Schwartz.
The three-year-old daughter of Giant`s Causeway out of Vallee des Reves, by
Kingmambo, had been entered in the Tattersalls December sale. Instead, Maids
Causeway will be retired to Sheikh Mohammed`s Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket,
Racing Post reports. Breeding plans have not been announced.
Maids Causeway won the 2005 Coronation Stakes (Eng-G1) at York and finished
second in the One Thousand Guineas (Eng-G1) at Newmarket. As a two-year-old, she
scored wins at Newmarket in the Rockfel Stakes (Eng-G2) and Solera Stakes
(Eng-G3).
Bred in Ireland by the Vallee Des Reves Syndicate, Maids Causeway won four of
11 career starts and earned $644,496.
