SAOIRE ANOTHER CLASSIC WINNER FOR TATTERSALLS

SAOIRE, purchased for 65,000 at the 2003 Tattersalls (Ireland) September Yearling Sale, made history when winning the Boylesports Irish 1000 Guineas for trainer Frances Crowley, becoming the first Irish Classic winner to be trained by a woman.

SAOIRE, a daughter of PIVOTAL, is the second 2005 European Classic winner from the 2003 Tattersalls (Ireland) September Yearling Sale, following the win of 5,000 purchase SILVER CUP in the Italian 1000 Guineas, while another graduate of the same sale, the 72,000 purchase INDESATCHEL was only narrowly denied Classic glory in the previous weekend`s Group 1 Poule d` Essai des Poulains, when beaten a head by SHAMARDAL.

SAOIRE, purchased for 4,000 guineas by Larry Stratton at the 2002 Tattersalls December Foal Sale, was sold by Richard Kent`s Helshaw Grange Stud at the 2003 Tattersalls (Ireland) September Yearling Sale where he was purchased by Martin Cullinane on behalf of owner Joseph Joyce.

Entries for the 2005 Tattersalls (Ireland) September Yearling Sale, which will feature the only qualifiers for the 300,000 Tattersalls (Ireland) Sales Stakes, will close on Tuesday 31st May. The 2005 Sale will take place from Tuesday 20th September to Thursday 22nd September and is expected to number approximately 650 yearlings.
