Art of War was absolutely supreme in his 4th start of his international career when he took out the Wheels 2000 race worth US$ 120 000on the dirt over 2000m in Dubai on Thursday night.

Merit rated at 100, the Summerhill bred South African, was an impressive 8.5 lengths winner of his 95-110 rated race.

Art of War (pictured, image: DRC/Watkins) was always prominent tracking the leaders until he when ahead at the 500m pole and stretched clear from the 400m mark.

He is by Kahal (GB) out of Cariad (SAF) by Northern Guest (USA).

J J The Jet Plane was no doubt the disappointment of the night from a South African perspective. He showed pace on the dirt but fell away badly in the middle section of his race before plodding on to the finish. It was clearly obvious that he did not enjoy the surface.

Warsaw, the international bred with no connection with South Africa other than his trainer, also won on a night dominated by Godolphin.
