RACE 1:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1000m Straight

Not an easy race. WIN AT WILL has a chance on a placed run over 1000m. Keep an eye on two first timers, namely ANDREW'S PRIDE and JUST FELICIA. SHE-VAR may improve on a fair debut from last time. LADY CHARLOTTE has not run since May. She had two fair runs before the lengthy break.

RACE 2:Maiden Juvenile Plate 1000m Straight

SNAPPY was green on debut last time but still managed to find a decent finish. May improve. SILVER SHEIK is improving with each run but is not a confident selection for the win. A few first timers may be worth following. These could be SELSIUS, PRINCE CASPIAN and READ MY HEART.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

GRENADE is inclined to be inconsistent. However he was unlucky last time in that he never had the best of run ins to the line. He goes well this C & D and should be considered. DAY OF RECKONING disappointed last time when drawn wide and over shorter. Ran well in his debut run the run before that over 1200m when running on to finish less than half a length back in third. UKRAINE may be ready to fill a placing and is improving slowly with each run. MAKE MY DAY made a sound debut last time and should improve on that run. TRIPLE VORTEX was returning from a five month rest last time and would have needed the run.

RACE 4:MR 74 Hcp (F & M) 1200m Straight

HEADSTRONG is unbeaten this distance (2 from 2). She shows good pace this distance and looks the one to beat. HORSEPOWER runs well this C & D and should not be ignored. SUGAR BLUES is never far back and ran on well to win on the line last time. KAUTHAR is battling for her second win but can find a minor placing. FIRST 'N FAST was returning from a lengthy rest last time and also made her debut run for the Duncan Howells yard after having relocated from Cape Town. Can pop up this league.

RACE 5:Conditions Stakes 1100m Straight

INTELLECTUAL ran a cracker in the Grade 3 Labelo Handicap last time when failing to catch Cyber Case on the line. A repeat of that run should see him take the number one box today. CLEARLY SILVER has run only four times for three wins and a third. Is well handicapped to go close. Of concern is that Sean Cormack rides stable companion CHARMING LADY and could be the stable-elect. Has gone off a bit. MR TOP has only been out of the top three twice in eleven runs at this track with four wins, two seconds and three thirds. Strong chance again.JINZO is very consistent and can force himself into the money.

RACE 6:MR 71 Hcp 2000m Bend

SPLENDID TAMBUR (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) ran on well to win his latest effort at the Vaal over 1600m at the Vaal last month. Can repeat. Has placed this C & D. That was during last season. HAPPY VALLEY (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) was a winner on debut last time. He may need to confirm but consider the extra 400m and should improve further. THE DUB always races handy and is never out of causing an upset. Watch. Has only won over 2000m. INTERLINK and ALIF have some improving to do to win after their latest efforts but they can place at very best.

RACE 7:MR 88 Hcp 2000m Bend

The long shot ULTRA VIRES showed some small improvement last time. Even though he has not won in ages, nor has he placed in as long, he has raced in features and in this company could go close. ZORBA (Charles Laird/Anton Marcus) won at this track during last year's KZN Winter Season. He will also be trying for the hat trick and will be running on. He is stepping up in class. MR ESPLENDID and WOOD BE MAGIC have very little to choose between them and must both go into all PA's. TRES FORTE should not be ignored as he also has a chance of three in a row. Will be running on.

RACE 8:MR 73 Hcp (F & M) 1450m Bend

FOREIGN TRADE is back over her favourite C & D and should be considered despite the price at which she is likely to start. PROPICIADA (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) has fair post maiden form and can improve on her most recent form over today's distance. LADY MAGPIE was running on strongly in her post maiden run last time. Both of her runs have been at Greyville. looks to be slightly above average at this stage. BEZAME' is always worth a shout and has claims. Stays on well. Both MADAM COUNCELLOR and KEEN ACCORD are not out of it either.

RACE 9:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1600m Bend

PENNROCK made an excellent debut last time when running on over this distance at Scottsville. A repeat of that run could see her win her maiden at the second attempt. Muzi Yeni rides for Mike De Kock. Stable companion DISTINTA WELLS has Anthony Delpech up and she should mount a serious challenge along with DREAMS AND FANCIES (Glen Kotzen/Sean Cormack) who faded late last time over 2000m. Has good form over today's distance. DUPONT DANCER has improved considerably in her last two over the distance and must be included in the Pick Six. LALLAN did not follow up on a nice debut when racing over further last time. Chance back this distance.
