Mike Azzie was the victor in a lively bidding duel to purchase the Singspiel colt out of Alignment at the Emperor's Palace National Yearling Sale on Friday night.
Irish bred, Potola Palace is out of a placed mare who is a half sister to the dam of Gp. 1 winner Golan and Gp.2 winner, Tartan Bearer.
The colt of the sale, as he was described and bred by Highlands Farm, was knocked down after vigorous underbidding by numerous players including the likes of Markus Jooste, sitting next to Bernard Kantor, and Dean Kannemeyer who took the colt past the R3 million mark.

does anyone know where mike azzie gets all his money from?? every year he seems to spend millions of rands at the nationals and his most these expensive buys never recoup their high purchase prices through winning races on the track. one that springs to mind was the very expensive smashing looker Executive Jet who was a flop on the track.
