RACE 1:Workriders Maiden Juvenile Plate 1800m Bend
JAROS ran his best race last time when running on for a close up second. Good chance if repeating that run. BLACK ACES could be improving. SLIPPERY SLOPE is not too consistent but at best could win a race such as this. SEA CAPTAIN showed some small improvement last time. Chance in this field. JUST KNOCK made a dull debut last time. Could surprise.
SELECTIONS: 1st - JAROS * (6); 2nd - BLACK ACES (1); 3rd - SLIPPERY SLOPE (3); 4th - SEA CAPTAIN (9); 5th - JUST KNOCK (13)

TIGER'S RETREAT has had two very good runs and the blinkers go on this afternoon. Should be the one to beat. LECTURE MOMENTS has good form and will be finding more late on. WESTERN WAY is never too far back. Set a good pace last time. SCIENTIST did not show over further last time. Chance back over this shorter trip. GOLD NUGGET made a very moderate debut last time. Looks likely to improve.

EDICT has been very consistent and three of his five wins have been over the distance. Drops in class and is nicely weighted. MALAGA-BELLE did not show when messing up his start in a feature last time. Good form prior to that run. SHEER COURAGE will have a better chance if the going is soft. Has some decent form. BERMUDA WINTER has a chance if reproducing his best form. GOLD GAME is never far back but could need to find more for the win.

RACE 7:Grade 1 J & B Met (R2 500 000) 2000m Bend
IGUGU (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) has not had the best of preparations before the J & B Met. Whatever one may feel about her chances one has to remember three things: She is by far the best horse in the country; Mike De Kock is one of the most respected trainers, not only in this country, but in the world; and she is so well weighted that she should take a power of beating. BRAVURA (Joey Ramsden/Anton Marcus) is a very good and honest sort. He has good form this C & D. Could pick up another Grade 1 before the end of the 2011/2 season. THE APACHE never runs a bad race in any company. Must never be ignored and should go close. The Gavin Van Zyl yard is in excellent form and top jockey Raymond Danielson has the ride. GIMMETHEGREENLIGHT is highly though of. Won the Queen's Plate three weeks ago in fine style. May prefer the shorter trip but Piere Strydom has the ride. BEACH BEAUTY (Dennis Drier/Alec Forbes) may not be quite ready to win in this league but is certainly capable of finishing in the money. Is a classy daughter of Dynasty.
SELECTIONS: 1st - IGUGU ** (12); 2nd - BRAVURA (1); 3rd - THE APACHE (2); 4th - GIMMETHEGREENLIGHT (15); 5th - BEACH PARTY (14)
RACE 8:MR 92 Hcp 1900m Bend
SI'L VOUS PLAIT has had only five runs for three wins and two seconds. Runs on strongly. Does take on stronger but appears to be well equipped to meet that challenge. ROYAL ARROW ran on strongly to win at this C & D last time. Stable is coming to form. Good chance. BETA has won this C & D and should be running on. INDIGO AMIGO has been showing improved form and with a light mass of 52kg should have a place chance at best. EASTERN COBBLER disappointed last time. Chance on previous form.
SELECTIONS: 1st - SI'L VOUS PLAIT ** (5); 2nd - ROYAL ARROW (2); 3rd - BETA (6); 4th - INDIGO AMIGO (9); 5th - EASTERN COBBLER (8)
RACE 9:MR 83 Hcp (F & M) 1800m Bend
ILHA BELLA (Mike De Kock) has never really lived up to her promise. She did win this C & D last time and could repeat. DESTINY'S LADY stays on but did not start well last time. ELODIE has not raced since August. In good form before suspension becAUSe of a nosebleed. WOMAN OF THE YEAR has won her last two. Loves the distance. TURKISH DELIGHT has steady form over further.
SELECTIONS: 1st - ILHA BELLA * (5); 2nd - DESTINY'S LADY (4); 3rd - ELODIE (1); 4th - WOMAN OF THE YEAR (9); 5th - TURKISH DELIGHT (7)
RACE 10:MR 76 Hcp 1800m Bend
SUN EMPEROR showed big improvement last time. Poor form before that. Respect. MANCHURIAN TIGER improved by seventeen lengths last time. Also warrants respect on that improvement. DARK KNIGHT faded over further last time. Better chance over this distance. FORT LODGE ran on strongly to win his latest start over this C & D. Obvious chance again. GEORGE CROSS is never too far back. Chance if running on.
SELECTIONS: 1st - SUN EMPEROR * (7); 2nd - MANCHURIAN TIGER (11); 3rd - DARK KNIGHT (4); 4th - FORT LODGE (2); 5th - GEORGE CROSS (5)
