RACE 1:Maiden Juvenile Plate (F) 1200m Straight

SHE'S GOT IT (Joey Ramsden/Glen Hatt) ran well in her debut run last time last time when running on. Should go close again this afternoon. ALL IS SECRET (Vaughan Marshall/MJ Byleveld) makes her debut. She cost R800 000 and should be considered. Keep an eye on the betting. Two more first timers to consider are TSARINA and WIMBLEDON QUEEN (Justin Snaith/Bernard Fayd'Herbe). QUIET ELEGANCE has had two moderate runs but may place in her third attempt.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1200m Straight

WING AND A PRAYER is never too far back but this will be his thirty third start as a maiden! Don't ignore. ZUCARO (Justin Snaith/Felix Coetzee) could improve on two fair initial runs. Watch the betting on the first timer, JET SET. He is a son of Jet Master but the yard is battling to find form. EIGHTH MAN improved by seven lengths last time. Respect. GOLD ECLIPSE (Dean Kannemeyer) is inconsistent and has been proving expensive to follow. Could still win this.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate 1600m Bend

MYSTIC JET (Vaughan Marshall/MJ Byleveld) makes his debut. He is well bred and a son of Jet Master and cost R1 200 000. Please watch the betting on this one. BAYONT did not have the best of rides last time but still managed to run on for a close up fourth which was an improvement of eight lengths on his debut effort two runs ago. ROYAL PERFORMANCE is never far back but lacks a finish. SPARKLING WOOD has steady form and his last run should be ignored. TARGET FIVE (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) improved by eight lengths last time. Could show further improvement.

RACE 4:MR 90 Hcp 1400m Bend

VARUSHKA has only won and placed over the distance and has done particularly well this C & D. She held on to win this C & D last time. Chance of repeating. RABATTACHE has faced far stronger. Fortunately an apprentice claim of 4kg could come to his rescue as he had been set an almost impossible 68.5kg to carry. Still 64.5kg will be a massive handicap. Excellent form this C & D. MONSIEUR DUPONT (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) did not show last time when bumped over the last 200m. Had good form before that. EFFECTIVE POWER has run seven times but has yet to finish out of the top three (1 win, 4 seconds and 2 thirds). Won well last time. CHIEFTAN (Vaughan Marshall/MJ Byleveld) did not show in a feature last time. That was his post maiden run.

RACE 5:MR 90 Hcp 1400m Bend

SHIMMERING FLAME (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) has the form to win. Takes a drop in class. BOISE DE VAR has good form and stays on well. Has won this C & D. ENTRADOR is never far back but fades after having set a good pace up front. MOONLIGHT GAMBLER is another who is never too far back. DEAD CERT (Joey Ramsden/Glen Hatt) did not show in PE last time. Could make amends.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SHIMMERING FLAME * (1); 2nd - BOIS DE VAR (7); 3rd - ENTRADOR (4); 4th - MOONLIGHT GAMBLER (3); 5th - DEAD CERT (2)

RACE 6:MR 74 Hcp 1400m Bend

LOCKED ON TARGET takes a big drop in class and is back over his more favoured C & D. Big chance. DAN PATCH showed considerable improvement last time. That was this C & D and has a good chance on that run. REGAL MAN (Dean Kannemeyer) does not have much to beat but has poor form. Could improve in this field as he takes a slight drop in class. DUBAI RAINBOW improved by nineteen lengths last time. Respect. ALBERTS VIGILANCE (Vaughan Marshall/MJ Byleveld) is never far behind and is not without a chance.

RACE 7:Grade 3 Prix Du Cap (R150 000) 1400m Bend

DANCE WITH AL (Justin Snaith/Bernard Fayd'Herbe) ran well in the Grade 1 Majorca Stakes last time when finishing just under three lengths behind Ebony Flyer in fourth place. TRINITY HOUSE (Joey Ramsden/Glen Hatt) finished just over a length behind DANCE WITH AL in the same race. Is 1.5kg better off and could reverse the order. I have chosen DANCE WITH AL to beat TRINITY HOUSE as she looks to be improving a bit more. FRAGRANT AL (Justin Snaith/Felix Coetzee) has a decent shout in this field and should have a good race this C & D. STREET RUNNER was returning from a nine month rest last time. Should be fitter this afternoon. SUPER ELEGANT could cause an upset. She finished only a quarter of a length behind TRINITY HOUSE last time in the Majorca. Is 1.5kg better off! Stable not in the best of form though. Could cause the upset.

RACE 8:Maiden Plate 2200m Bend

DOLLAR BILL BLUES did not show with the blinkers for the first time last time. They will be removed for this afternoon's race. Good form before that. AFORE THE FLOW (Joey Ramsden) has steady form. May prefer this distance. LAGO CUOMO (Dean Kannemeyer) has some fair form but has disappointed before when strongly backed. MR GOSS (Mike Bass/Bernard Fayd'Herbe)  may beginning to show. DRILL SARGEANT (Justin Snaith/Felix Coetzee) has a chance but could be better without blinkers.
