The 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale Preview magazine, featuring thoroughbred industry articles and a sample of the pedigrees to be showcased at next year’s sale, is now interactive and available online at inglis.com.au

Australia’s most distinguished yearling auction is set to be conducted on 7, 8 and 9 April next year, nestled between the two major racedays of The Championships just around the corner at Royal Randwick.

“Inglis Easter is world renowned and a tremendous testament to the high-class breeders we have in Australasia. Matching the region’s best pedigrees with their impeccable conformation sets Easter apart, as does the exceptional racetrack results of our graduates,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.

“Easter has a tremendous record as the place to source the best yearlings by proven sires and the progeny of young sires. Horses deemed good enough to be selected for the prestigious catalogue shine on the racetrack. 28% of Fastnet Rock’s first crop was offered at Easter, yet they accounted for 89% of his Australian stakes winners and 75% of his international black type winners,” Webster points out.
Inglis’ experienced and independent bloodstock team assessed over 4,500 yearling pedigrees entered for the 2015 Inglis Select Yearling Sales then have physically inspected each and every entry. The cream of the crop is set to be offered at Easter, as it has been for decades.

Easter accounts for approximately 10% of yearlings offered in Australian sales each year, yet is the leading source of Golden Slipper winning two-year-olds, Champion three-year-olds and International weight for age stars.

$85,000 Easter Session II buy Mossfun became the 18th Inglis Easter graduate to win the Golden Slipper when she saluted for Hawkes Racing and Emirates Park in April. The daughter of Mossman joins the illustrious honour roll of Easter Golden Slipper winners such as Magic Night, Eskimo Prince, Luskin Star, Marscay, Rory’s Jester, Flying Spur, Merlene, Miss Finland and Forensics.

Easter is the dominant force in a horse’s Classic year, with 34 three-year-old Group 1 race victories in the last ten years. Easter is also the only sale to have sold an Australian Group 1 weight-for-age winning three-year-old in each of the last three seasons; Foxwegde, All Too Hard and Shamus Award.

New Zealand’s current champion sprinter Bounding is a graduate of Easter, as are Amber Sky and Sterling City which claimed the Dubai Group 1 sprint double of the Al Quoz Sprint and Golden Shaheen earlier this year. Fellow Hong Kong trained Easter graduate Able Friend has raced into favouritism to add his name to the growing list of international weight-for-age stars as the top pick for next month’s Hong Kong Mile, Gr.1.

Stallion and mare strength is again set to be a highlight of the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale at Newmarket.

The progeny of 217 stakes winning mares including 47 Group 1 winners are introduced in the Easter Preview. They include the first foals of Irish Lights, Ofcourseican, Anabandana, Sacred Choice, Miss Match, Scarlett Lady and Dariana.

155 siblings to stakes winners, including 44 Group 1 winners, are highlighted in the back section of the interactive magazine. These include half or full relations to Inglis graduates Peggy Jean, Diamond Drille, Fiveandahalfstar, Manawanui, Rock Classic, Mosheen, Inspiration, Yosei, Samantha Miss, Faint Perfume, Headway, Weekend Hussler, Hampton Court, Alboran Sea, Bounding and Cosmic Endeavour.

All of Australia’s leading sires and many top stallions from the Northern Hemisphere are set to be heavily represented at the 2015 Inglis Easter Sale including Fastnet Rock, Snitzel, Redoute’s Choice, Sebring, More Than Ready, Northern Meteor, Street Cry, Exceed And Excel, Commands, High Chaparral, Stratum and Lonhro.

Inglis are particularly excited about the outstanding crop of first season sires well represented in the 2015 Easter Preview. So You Think, Foxwedge, Smart Missile, Sepoy, Dream Ahead, Helmet, Gio Ponti, Cape Blanco, Poet’s Voice, Jimmy Choux, Pour Moi, Toorak Toff and Uncle Mo all have outstanding credentials to leave top class gallopers on the racetracks of the world.

More yearlings by first season sires have been accepted into 2015 Inglis Easter than any Easter Sale since 2008, which included subsequent top stallions Fastnet Rock, Al Maher, Charge Forward, Not A Single Doubt, Savabeel, High Chaparral and Shamardal.
