The first Sunday meeting of 2015 and it looks a tough one for punters.
Case in point is the lucky last where all look to have some hope with race tactics having a big say in the finishing order.
A couple of Class droppers in BLUE SWEDE and KNIGHT SPIRIT will be two that appreciate a fast early pace and if they are handy enough when things get serious on straightening, they play a part late.
BLACK MAGIC won well enough at his debut to follow in Class 4 also and MEDIA CAPTAIN - who found some good form late last year - comes into this with an exceptional trial under his belt so must be considered.
To make matter worse for punters in the last, the two emergencies - POWERNOVA and SAVAGE STORM - could easily win if they get a start and no doubt it will pay to go extremely wide in exotics.
Earlier in the card, EXCEED and EXPRESS looks well placed to continue his great run of form and can win race 9 in Kranji Stakes C company.
He won’t get it all his own way with AMI drawn just inside him and two swoopers in last start winner GOBI RANGER and OLYMPIC ANTHEM on debut likely to have supporters.
Best Bets; (EXCEED EXPRESS race 9, win), (CLERMONT CLUB race 8, each-way) and (KNIGHT SPIRIT race 11, value).

Larry says, "A good Class 5 field and while there is plenty of depth, the top-rated horse in CLERMONT CLUB should find this company to his liking. The one-time winner has had a couple of sighters this campaign over unsuitable shorter trips and looks extremely well-placed in Class 5 with Nunes a smart booking. STAR ACADEMY also drops in Class and will improve although the wide gate with an inexperienced hoop is a concern. Of the "usual suspects", TORRECAMPO is due and gets every chance with Rodd from gate 3, GODS SPEED is in winning form, SUPER STAR will lead and give a sight with BROWNE'S ANATOMY the one to watch at long odds with Oscar on-board."

Larry says, "One thing is for sure in this race in that whoever wins, the form will hold up for months to come. Of the out-and-out poly sprinters, EXCEED EXPRESS looks destined for better things than KSC company. The 3YO has won four and been placed three times from just nine career starts and it might be a case of catch me if you can in this. But AMI also has speed to burn and has drawn just inside EXCEED EXPRESS so expect a ding-dong battle into that first bend. Who swoops? GOBI RANGER showed his class at his first-run in Singapore and given his Group form from NZ, he can easily win again in this field. Likewise, OLYMPIC ANTHEM arrives in Singapore with a good record from Australia and given a nice recent trial and a hot pace in his favour, he could be storming late. Larry says, "An intriguing race for punters with some progressive types in STIRLING and SING ROULETTE ready to win in Class 4 and some value about in a field with depth. STIRLING looks the pick though after winning well on debut before placing in this company at his next start. He was a bit green on that occasion so should appreciate the experience and hard to beat. SING ROULETTE won well on debut (at nice odds) and no reason to think he isn't up to Class 4 company and looks a horse that will pick up more than his fair share of races. Looking for value, KNOW EACH OTHER had a good 2YO campaign and should appreciate the handicap conditions so look for a big run with THEBUZZDOWNUNDER also some hope to show his best back over 1200m on some solid form of late. You can't leave out MY BOY JACK, WHITE COFFEE and the emergency, RAPPOR, with one eye on the tote for stable support."

Larry says, "It doesn't get easier for punters in the last with a plethora of chances from the equal top-rated horses in BLUE SWEDE, EASY MONEY and KNIGHT'S SPIRIT to the emergencies in POWERNOVA and even SAVAGE STORM. Of the top-weights, BLUE SWEDE looks to have plenty of ability and will be flying late as will KNIGHT'S SPIRIT who is also the value pick in this wide open race. Both appreciate the company but both will need luck after drawing (somewhat ironically) awkwardly in inside gates. From the trials, MEDIA CAPTAIN picks himself. He has drawn wide but often likes to roll along so that might not be an issue and his trial was exceptional. It's hard to leave out two last start winners in BLACK MAGIC and D'ARTAGNAN and obviously go wide in exotics."
