GRADE 2 HAWAII STAKES: Current form could make SABADELL the one to follow

GRADE 2 HAWAII STAKES: Current form could make SABADELL the one to follow

SABADELL has excellent form coming into this race. He is C & D suited and won the Wolf Power with ease last time and looks to be set to repeat that effort again this afternoon. Jockey Piere Strydom has ridden him to victory in three from the four runs in which they have partnered each other. Even though SABADELL has the form and a favourable draw the result is by no means a foregone conclusion as there will be challengers left, right and centre. Trainer Geoff Woodruff has a very good record on feature race days. Expect another good effort today.

HALVE THE DEFICIT runs the the third time since finishing only three lengths behind LEGISLATE in last year's Vodacom July. Under the circumstances, that was a fine run and any similar kind of run this afternoon could see him go closer to winning. He does step up in class from last time but he is no stranger to this type of field and with one run under the belt since the July, should be ready for the challenge.

ASHTON PARK drops in class and has been running well in Cape Town. One cannot underestimate the quality of his close up runs behind LEGISLATE and FUTURA during the Cape Summer season. Well weighted with a chance.

READYTOGORIGHTNOW is another Cape Town raider who is well weighted with a winning chance. Drops in class and usually runs on well. cannot be left out. He has won three from four starts over this distance.

CHEKILLI has begun to find some of his earlier form. He went off the boil badly but came back to best last time with an easy win by almost four lengths win against HALVE THE DEFICIT. He has a definite money chance and should not be left out of trifectas and quartets.

1st - SABADELL (6); 2nd - HALVE THE DEFICIT (1);  3rd - ASHTON PARK (7); 4th - READYTOGORIGHTNOW (8); 5th - CHEKILLI (9)
