EAST CAPE OAKS (Listed) For 3 year old Fillies - EROS'S GIRL fights on well to beat KUMIKO

The finish to the East Cape Oaks produced a very close and exciting finish. The Justin Snaith trained EROS'S GIRL, always sitting closer to last than first for most of the race, moved up through the field as they moved into the home straight.

The start was an even one. IDEAL BLOOM was the early leader from KUMIKO and NIGHT FALL. the order never altered much for most of the race, except that RARE STONE raced up there early on and took over third place. EROS'S GIRL was content to bide her time.

IDEAL BLOOM lead them home but KUMIKO was the first to challenge. At the 400m mark EROS'S GIRL had been moved forward by Bernard Fayd'Herbe and was looking more and more like the winner but KUMIKO ran as if her very life depended on the win. With 100m left EROS'S GIRL has far too many guns for KUMIKO, who never went down without a fight. The Justin Snaith trained BOUNTIFUL HARVEST ran on well for third.

The win was EROS'S GIRL's fourth from eleven starts with her earnings now close to R300 000.
