S A FILLIES NURSERY (Grade 2) - ENTISAAR wins first feature of the day in fine style

The first feature race of the day was won in fine style by the Mike De Kock trained ENTISAAR, who looked exceptional in the parade ring as well as on the way down to the start. The tote favourite, VARUMBA, was slowest away in a field that broke well. That and the rather sticky going, probably accounted for her below par run as she was rushed up in the early stages and then had little to offer in the latter stages even though she was able to stay on in the end.

There was a good pace early on with ENTISAAR well placed in those early stages. FROSTED HONEY vied for the early lead along with ENTISAAR while SPEEDY SUZIE with VARUMBA making up the lost ground rapidly.

At the halfway stage VARUMBA had moved into contention but Anthony Delpech aboard ENTISAAR pushed the button and from that point the race was not in doubt. VARUMBA did enough for third while FROSTED HONEY stayed there throughout and may want a bit more ground. MELLA MARIA ran on well for fourth.

ENTISAAR has now earned just short of R400 000 from her two wins and third and should feature well during the KZN Winter Season.
