SAME JURISDICTION showed her class when she won the final Grade 1 race on Vodacom July Day. She showed her class when running on from the top of the straight. This proves that good horses can win at Greyville, even when drawn wide. Drawn one from the outside in a field of fifteen horses she was settled in behind the leading horses but was switched to a rails run by jockey Anton Marcus.

Once again the field broke well. The first to show were MAYBE YES and BE MINE TONIGHT. CARRY ON ALICE was next in the firing line. The pace was a good one right from the off.  BE MINE TONIGHT moved up at the 1000m mark to take the field along. HAMMIE'S HOOKER was also not too far off them and within striking distance. She was followed by ALEXIS who had moved up well on the outside. MAYBE YES was still in contention.

There was always the feeling that the more fancied horses were going to make their moves once they had entered the short run in. CARRY ON ALICE had also moved up.

It was apparent that SAME JURISDICTION had plenty of running and was going to be hard to challenge. SMART CALL was also finding a finish but she was no match for the Duncan Howells trained winner. MAYBE YES stayed on well for third, ahead of the fast finishing HAMMIE'S HOOKER.

The win was SAME JURISDICTION'S fifth from nine starts. Her earnings are now just a tad below R1.9 million. Her wins are likely to end here either.
