PREVIEW: TURFFONTEIN (INSIDE TRACK) - 26 JULY 2015
RACE 1:
CHAMPAGNE HAZE found something of a finish on debut last time. Looks the most likely of those who have run to improve. DUZI MOON was slow on debut last time but looks to have some promise. NETFLIX has something to find on latest effort. KUNUNATA didn't show last time after a decent debut the run before that. RESISTER did show improvement in his second start last time.
1st - CHAMPAGNE HAZE (2); 2nd - DUZI MOON (4); 3rd - NETFLIX (9); 4th - KUNUNATA (6); 5th - RESISTER (10)
RACE 2:
BAJAN FANTASY made a good debut when running on nicely. The extra should suit. ROCK OF LAUDIUM has shown good form over the distance and must come into the reckoning. EVERSILVER was far from disgraced on debut last time. Stayed on over shorter. EYE THE COUNTESS was unlucky last time but has shown definite improvement with every run.. RICH AND DARK got going late on when making her debut last time.
1st - BAJAN FANTASY (2); 2nd - ROCK OF LAUDIUM (10); 3rd - EVERSILVER (6); 4th - EYE THE COUNTESS (7); 5th - RICH AND DARK (9)
RACE 3:
BUDDY'S FALCON has some decent form and should go close. Last three runs have brought improvement. JIN-GO-LO-BA may have won last time had she kept on a straight course late last time. Will be right there. TOPOGRAPHY showed very good improvement second start last time. Is another who should go close. HONEYBUSH TEA is inconsistent but can earn something. LA DIGUE is never too far back but weakens late on.
1st - BUDDY'S FALCON (3); 2nd - JIN-GO-LO-BA (2); 3rd - TOPOGRAPHY (10); 4th - HONEYBUSH TEA (1); 5th - LA DIGUE (4)
RACE 4:
SHEIK'S DIAMOND was an unlucky loser last time in third. Should be there at the line. SECRET ANGEL stayed on when making improvement last time. BUBBA'S DOLL looks to be improving again. BADGER'S BELLE has been consistent but required a more sustained finish. GLOBAL SPIN has a money chance if repeating penultimate, her best run in seven.
1st - SHEIK'S DIAMOND (11); 2nd - SECRET ANGEL (5); 3rd - BUBBA'S DOLL (2); 4th - BADGER'S BELLE (1); 5th - GLOBAL SPIN (4)
RACE 5:
PENNINGTON SANDS could be worth following on her vastly improved latest run when she ran on over shorter. She should see out the extra 200m on that run. DREAM GALAXY returned to winning ways last time with a good win over 1600m. She hasn't been that consistent but is worth throwing in again. ERIN generally runs well and is not out of it. Has excellent form this C & D and should be in the shake up. COBY has not won for about a year. Won over this distance over a year ago. Fair form. SISTERS OF MERCY has her problems but could place on last effort. Add EDUCATED for the scratched horse.
1st - PENNINGTON SANDS (8); 2nd - DREAM GALAXY (4); 2nd - ERIN (2); 3rd - COBY (3); 4th - SISTERS OF MERCY (9); 5th - EDUCATED (5)
RACE 6:
VARANESE showed good improvement last time. May prefer slightly shorter but one cannot ignore latest effort. STIRLING LEAVES also showed improvement last time and her only win was this C & D. Look for another good run. PANCHATANTA has good post maiden form. All three of these runs have been good enough to see her go close. A P'S LILY won her maiden at the second time. It was an impressive win over this C & D. Can repeat if not needing to confirm. ICE GODDESS can go close if finishing well as she did two runs back.
1st - VARANESE (6); 2nd - STIRLING LEAVES (4); 3rd - PANCHATANTA (1); 4th - A P'S LILY (7); 5th - ICE GODDESS (11)
RACE 7:
PLATINUM JET won by over two lengths against stronger opposition last time. He may be better suited to the Vaal but has only had one run this track. CAPTAIN ALDO also drops in class. Form has been very good and he did place in his only start at this track. Should be right there. PIVOTAL PURSUIT won his last two, but against weaker. May not be too well weighted. RUSHING LARK looks to be coming back to form. ANTONIUS CHARM ran on late last time in an improved effort.
1st - PLATINUM JET (3); 2nd - CAPTAIN ALDO (1); 3rd - PIVOTAL PURSUIT (2); 4th - RUSHING LARK (5); 5th - ANTONIUS CHARM (6)
RACE 8:
GENTLEMAN ONLY takes on older but he has some good juvenile maiden form. This is by no means a strong field and could be the one to follow.BAR DOT ACCENT has had his issues but has shown good form in two of his four starts. BRIDEGROOM BERTIE made a very good debut last time when running on powerfully over shorter at the Vaal. The extra will suit. METTLESOME makes his debut at almost four years of age. SANDS OF TIME did not show last time. Is better than that run.
