PREVIEW: KENILWORTH - 1 SEPTEMBER 2015
RACE 1:
OVERSHADOW ran a great race last time in his second ever start. Looked the winner some way out. ZUD WEST is a son of WESTERN WINTER making his debut. Watch the betting. LET IT RAIN is a son of DYNASTY making his debut. Watch! ARCTIC BLAST never showed in a classy field in a feature race last time. Could be followed today. MY MAN ALEX is improving slowly. Don't ignore.
1st - OVERSHADOW (11); 2nd - ZUD WEST (20); 3rd - LET IT RAIN (8); 4th - ARCTIC BLAST (2); 5th - MY MAN ALEX (1)
RACE 2:
ALBARAKAH won against similar last time. That was his first win since moving from PE. Could be considered today. KILRAIN did get it back together in the latter stages last time. FORWARD DRIVE won his post maiden very comfortably last time. That run was over this C & D. Jockey is unbeaten on him and maiden form was good. CAPE CUTTER stayed on well in his latest and improved run. TELL ME MORE has issues but can never be ignored this C & D where both his wins have been recorded.
1st - ALBARAKAH (4); 2nd - KILRAIN (5); 3rd - FORWARD DRIVE (3); 4th - CAPE CUTTER (1); 5th - TELL ME MORE (7)
RACE 3:
WINTER TRADE drops in class. Was not disgraced behind a good sort last time. Tends to fade though. MOONLIGHT RUNNER also tends to fade but runs well this C & D. May benefit form the 4kg apprentice allowance. MARCH ON ran a very good post maiden last time. Finished strongly that day after a bump at the start. ROYAL BADGE won well on debut last time. Hard to assess. Watch the betting. MYSTICAL TWILIGHT won his debut at the sixth attempt last time. Was rewarded for consistency.
1st - WINTER TRADE (2); 2nd - MOONLIGHT RUNNER (1); 3rd - MARCH ON (7); 4th - ROYAL BADGE (8); 5th - MYSTICAL TWILIGHT (5)
RACE 4:
SABRINA FAIR may have won last time were it not for the fact that hung badly in the latter stages. Should get it right this afternoon. SUPERCILIOUS has very good form but has been expensive to follow in her last three for the wins. She should still win her maiden pretty soon. ICY FIRE was badly cut off on debut last time. Very good chance if repeating. BASEBALL HATTIE has weakened over shorter. Two moderate runs thus far. MISS MARKER has more to find but respect trainer and jockey.
1st - SABRINA FAIR (2); 2nd - SUPERCILIOUS (3); 3rd - ICY FIRE (8); 4th - BASEBALL HATTIE (6); 5th - MISS MARKER (4)
RACE 5:
NATATELA won her last two. Her latest win was against slightly stronger. Previous win was this C & D. Looks the one to beat. GORGEOUS GABY is battling to win for the second time but latest run was encouraging despite the interference late. STUDY THE STARS is never far back and she did run on late last time. NEALA was not disgraced in her post maiden last time. Could win again soon. EMBLEM'S STAR has a bit more to find on current form.
1st - NATATELA (1); 2nd - GORGEOUS GABY (7); 3rd - STUDY THE STARS (8); 4th - NEALA (5); 5th - EMBLEM'S STAR (10)
RACE 6:
CASADESUS looks hard to beat even though this will be a competitive race. She won her last three, all at this track. This will be the furtherest she has been but should be right there. She does drop in class for this race. TOPLESS takes on stronger. One of her two wins came this C & D. Has yet to run a bad race in five. ELUSIVE WAVE ran on too late last time over shorter. The longer distance will suit more. GUEST OF HONOUR ran on strongly in her post maiden last time. More to do. SKYSIGN is improving.
1st - CASADESUS (1); 2nd - TOPLESS (4); 3rd - ELUSIVE WAVE (3); 4th - GUEST OF HONOUR (7); 5th - SKYSIGN (6)
RACE 7:
MAN FROM MILAN has been battling to win his second race but did find a good finish to run third at Durbanville over shorter. He could be one to improve quite a bit this race. OREO SHAKE has lost some of his earlier sparkle but the yard had four winners on Saturday and has to have a good chance. MUSICAL MAN is never far back and did find a fair finish last time. AIR CHIEF MARSHAL has good post maiden form but has failed to run on in his last two. ROMAN RIDGE has a chance if running on. Has not taken to the Cape yet.
1st - MAN FROM MILAN (6); 2nd - OREO SHAKE (1); 3rd - MUSICAL MAN (9); 4th - AIR CHIEF MARSHAL (4); 5th - ROMAN RIDGE (8)
RACE 8:
MOUNT FUJI looked the winner up to the line last time and if repeating that improved run should go close this afternoon. ROCKET MASTER has his problems but looks to have scope for improvement this field. ROMAN SILVANUS has been staying on and form suggests a win sooner rather than later. PRINCE LATERAL is never far back and will more than likely be running on late. WATERWAYS runs for the fifty fourth time as maiden. Stranger things have happened in horse racing before!
