The turf gets a well-earned rest after a bumper couple of months of feature racing and again, an all Polytrack meeting with something for everyone.

As you would expect after the Gold Cup weekend, there are a lot of maiden and Class 5 races on the 11 race card but some nice events late in the day are worth the wait.

A Kranji Stakes B over 1700m (race 9) looks a beauty with the Pat Shaw-trained MAJESTIC MOMENTS likely to find this company more to his liking than the Group 1 Raffles Cup.

The 4YO will also enjoy being back on the Poly - his most recent winning surface - and given the trip and company suit, he could be very hard to beat.

The race has depth though and BLOSSOMS SEQUEL gunning for four straight wins has to come under serious consideration while CLUTHA LAD could be a worth a flutter at long odds as he finds himself in the right type of race.

In the lucky last it does look a race in three with DEVIL’S PASS, ROSELLI and KISS ME likely to fight out this finish.

Of the trio, DEVIL’S PASS looks hardest to beat jumping from gate 1 and given what he has shown at three starts in Singapore, could be a very good option to close the card.

Best Bets: (VITALLY SECRET race 10, win), (DEVIL’S PASS race 11, win) and (CLUTHA LAD race 9, long shot).

Bankers for Jackpots: Race 8 (2, 4, 7 and 13), race 9 (2, 3, 7 and 9), race 10 (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11), race 11 (2 and 3).

RACE 8: CLASS 5 (2) - 1000M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 16:25 PRIZE MONEY: S$35000

Larry says, "An extremely tricky Class 5 with a couple of horses seemingly out of form but suited at the trip and company and the emergency, SACRED CROWN, also playing a big part if he gets a start. D'DON is one form that looks out of form but hard to ignore his record over the 1000m in Class 5. Yes, he was disappointing last start when supported in a similar affair but well worth another look. A maiden in RIO DE JANEIRO also appeals. Although only placing once in 10 career starts, the 4YO has speed and is often supported and gets to try his hand over 1000m for the first time. Da Silva from gate 3 looks a very good combination. Of the rest, EXCEPTIONAL CHOICE has the most solid form leading into this and must be respected and as mentioned, SCARED CROWN can win if he gets a start."

2 *8144 Exceptional Choice     App K Lee-4 B Dean 5 39 58.5 4.00
In solid form and looks well placed here with 4kg claim to give this a shake.
3 377*0 Good Loouken     App Ws Chan-3 L Dragon 10 39 58.5 12
Disappointing horse as a rule but can go well on the Poly.
4 9*985 D'don     I Saifudin J O'hara 6 38 58.0 3.00
Disappointing with support in similar affair last start but wins on his day.
5 70770 Gypsy Magic     S John L Khoo 2 38 58.0 20
Form reading badly but well drawn and has senior hoop so look for improvement.
6 00400 Good Score     App Cc Wong-2 D Hill 4 37 57.5 20
Tongue-tie off after a bad run of form and have to take on trust.
7 95*86 Rio De Janeiro     A Da Silva S Gray 3 37 57.5 5.00
Maiden who has speed and the 1000m should be his caper.
8 89794 Barnburgh Lad     R Woodworth D Koh 9 36 57.0 12
Not far away last start in similar affair and can follow.
9 46956 Falcon     App R Shafiq M Walker 8 31 54.5 8.00
Maiden who is usually thereabouts in races like this and a must for exotics.
10 7839* Lam Edition     S Sam D Hill 12 26 52.0 50
Blinkers off but not for me,
11 49000 Ktronic     App J See-2 Zl Mok 7 24 51.0 50
Resuming and should need longer.
12 03*0* Diamond On The Bay     App P Dellorto-3 S Gray 11 22 50.0 50
Also resuming and easier to ignore.
13 06623 Sacred Crown E1   Unfixed M Yusof 1 28 53.0 4.00
In form and would be a leading hope is he gets a start.

RACE 9: KRANJI STAKES B (SET WEIGHTS) - 1700M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 17:00 PRIZE MONEY: S$100000

Larry says, "Plenty of curve balls in this Kranji Stakes B 1700m event and it does look a race to play with caution and go very wide on any exotic bets. The obvious choices are always a good place to start with BLOSSOMS SEQUEL in red-hot winning form and MAJESTIC MOMENTS sure to find this company more to his liking. BLOSSOMS SEQUEL has five Poly wins to his name, three of those from his last three starts. That form makes him hard to go pass with gate 2 a factor. But MAJESTIC MOMENTS has been going around in Group races and the Raffles Cup form has to hold up here. The Pat Shaw runner enjoys the Poly as well and could be hard to beat. Shaw also has GREENSTONE and VERTICAL START in the field and both could show up at odds without surprising. Of the rest, BOURBON GOLDMAN can also win while CLUTHA LAD is the smokey given he finds himself in the right race."

9 50000 Clutha Lad     App Cc Wong-2 M Walker 9 66 53.5 20
Form reads badly but find himself in the right race and surface with two runs under his belt this campaign. Value.

Appreciates first up run after long break and pay to keep safe.
11 68100 Vertical Start     App R Shafiq P Shaw 6 65 53.5 10
Blinkers off and that looks a good move this trip and another Shaw runner to keep safe.

RACE 10: CLASS 5 (1) - 1600M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 17:30 PRIZE MONEY: S$35000

Larry says, "While it might be a Class 5 Poly mile - often a graveyard for punters - the race looks an intriguing one and happy to think we can find the winner and hopefully some value. VITALLY SECRET is the horse in question and while his recent form reads badly, he finds himself in the right company over the right trip and given he gets to jump from gate 1, he could give a sight. He also gets a senior hoop in Corey Brown and blinkers and given the poor form on paper, he may be value. Another that might sneak out to value in this good field is the maiden, QUETZAL. A couple of his recent efforts in Class 4 have been good and he will appreciate the company. Too many other to mention but OUR RIVER DANCER is back in a suitable race, AMI ELEVEN will improve lengths in Class 5, BIGCAT RHAPSODY is flying and hARDEN UP and SUGARTIME JAZZ both can in without surprising. DAAD'S THE WAY some hope at start 106 - his first in Class 5."

RACE 11: CLASS 4 - 1100M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 18:00 PRIZE MONEY: S$60000

Larry says, "On a day that has thrown up some good and poor races, the lucky last looks a beauty and well worth keeping the punting powder dry for. Three horses in particular in DEVIL'S PASS, ROSELLI and KISS ME are the ones to focus on. DEVIL'S PASS won a race in Australia before arriving the stables of Laurie Laxon and has shown more than enough at three starts in Singapore to win this. He has drawn gate 1 - that's always handy - and Michael Rodd gets back on and will be looking for a result while in form. ROSELLI is a former winner form New Zealand and had support when running second at his Singapore debut. He should improve for the outing and while this race looks tougher, he must go close. KISS ME has drawn wide but is in form and if you had to include another, SATELLITE PRINCE is in winning form and versatile enough to follow back in trip. "
