PREVIEW: KENILWORTH - 9 FEBRUARY 2016
RACE 1:
Only one two year old has run before. Watch the betting on the entire field.
1st - CAPTAIN MARMALADE (4); 2nd - STARFLASH (7); 3rd - BOMBS AWAY (2); 4th - ON THE RIGHT PATH (6); 5th - GREGORIAN CHANT (5)
RACE 2:
Not an easy race. SEARCH PARTY won well this C & D when winning his maiden at the fourth attempt last time. He did have good maiden form before the victory. Obvious rise in class but could make the frame again. LORD MARSHAL drops in class and was not disgraced in the Selangor Cup two runs back. KEMAL KAVUR weakens late but there are only six horses left in the race. EIGHTH WONDER has run behind some good sorts in stronger. Top jockey rides. PURPLE MOUNTAINS could have more to find to win.
1st - SEARCH PARTY (6); 2nd - LORD MARSHAL (4); 3rd - KEMAL KAVUR (2); 4th - EIGHTH WONDER (5); 5th - PURPLE MOUNTAINS (3)
RACE 3:
PERSIAN SILK did not show with blinkers last time. Off today. It will be a toss up between two unraced three year old fillies to see who finishes ahead of the other. They could both be good enough to fight out the finish. CAROLINA SKY and LONDALOZI will both have their supporters and justifiably so. STEEL MAGNOLIA may be ready to improve. Top yard and top jockey. FIFTY OTHER SHADES could place at best.
1st - PERSIAN SILK (1); 2nd - CAROLINA SKY (7); 3rd - LONDALOZI (10); 4th - STEEL MAGNOLIA (4); 5th - FIFTY OTHER SHADES (2)
RACE 4:
CARRIE BOW CAY has the form to win. Yet to win but has run nine times in SA and three overseas. PREOCCUPATION stayed on well last time. GARDEN FEATURE ran on nicely last time. Should be there if repeating. JETANO won her maiden at the fourth attempt last time. There are only six horses left in the race! VAN DAM'S FORCE could be better than latest run.
1st - CARRIE BOW CAY (3); 2nd - PREOCCUPATION (6); 3rd - GARDEN FEATURE (7); 4th - JETANO (1); 5th - VAN DAM'S FORCE (4)
RACE 5:
BOOMTOWN BELTER improved last time. Blinkers on today. SAILS SET ran on well to win this C & D last time. Can repeat. HANABI is never far back. Needs a better finish. SUN AT MIDNIGHT was moderate in her post maiden last time. REBEL'S IDOL can earn something.
1st - BOOMTOWN BELTER (7); 2nd - SAILS SET (1); 3rd - HANABI (5); 4th - SUN AT MIDNIGHT (2); 5th -REBEL'S IDOL (3)
RACE 6:
SAIL SOUTH ran well in his last two, both of which were this C & D. PRINCE OF THIEVES was not disgraced in the million Dollar last time. EQUITY KICKER will be running on. Can go close. BIANZINO ran on well last time. Has won this C & D but that was a while ago. MIDNITE ZONE has good form but takes on far stronger.

RACE 7:
STREAK OF SILVER looks to have some good value. He has run two very post maiden runs and has been finishing very well. Good run this C & D last time. MY MAN ALEX ran an improved race last time and is from top yard. LITTLE MO ran his best race in a long time last time when staying on this C & D. WHISKY BARON improved well to win his maiden last time. That was his third run. OVERSHADOW won his maiden at the sixth attempt last time. May need to confirm.
