PREVIEW: VAAL - 24 MAY 2016
RACE 1:
5-16-9-6-15
DUTCH EAST INDIA is a WARM WHITE NIGHT first timer. STAR OF CAESOUR is an Australian bred first timer. LEVI LADY looks to be the best of those that have already run. FASHION BLAST disappointed in her second run last time. SPICE LADY also makes her debut.
RACE 2:
1-5-3-2-4
SHEET WEAVER has had four consecutive and close up seconds. Has to go close again. ELEVENSES has improved in his last three. DESERT SUNSET fades late but is never too far back. AIR FORCE LEGEND has had some misfortune in the past. GRAND CLASSIC is steady and may improve.
RACE 3:
4-11-2-3-1
MAN THE FORT has some good form. Jockey Piere Strydom makes his return after recovering from a fall a few months back. NILGIRI HILLS makes his debut. Watch the betting on this son of TIGER RIDGE. ROYAL REGATTA is over his favourite distance. STAR TREK has been improving and he ran his best race in five last time. HILILYHILILYHILO will need to improve by many lengths to win.
RACE 4:
3-12-1-4-6
PIPPI SHORTSTOCK did not show last time but had fair form before that. PRINCESS AURORA was not disgraced on debut last time. Should improve. WINTER BREEZE was caught on the line last time. Can go close again. SHE'S A FLIRT is never too far back. Money chance. ANGEL'S SMILE has disappointed before but respect yard and jockey.
RACE 5:
2-3-4-7-1
TAHINI drops in class and trip. Goes for the hat trick. Has won over similar. Very good chance this line up. ELOQUENCE runs well over the distance. Third run after a long rest. Should run today. NESSPRESSO has been steady and should feature at the finish. Has been finishing well. CAPTAIN'S DIVA could be coming back to form again. CROWN OF ROSES has issues but ran a fair race behind CARRY ON ALICE last time.
RACE 6:
4-12-11-6-2
FIDELIO won his last three. Takes on stronger but looks to be on the way up. SUPANOVA has good enough form to give him a good chance, especially with a light mass. INSPECTOR CASEY is finding form again. MANX PARK makes respiratory noises. Money chance. GUN FIGHTER is capable on his day. Not to be ignored.
RACE 7:
8-6-4-5-3
BLACK COSSACK can be expected to run well if finding a good finish as he has done in recent runs. CRIMSON MAGIC disappointed last time. Chance on previous form. TEE JAY AR has not won in about eighteen months. Loses ground consistently at the start. ZEN MASTER won his maiden at the third attempt last time. May find this too far. TRULY has some fair form. Only win this distance.
RACE 8:
11-3-2-5-1
EXPLORACY won in Kimberley last time. Not a confident choice but he could cause an upset in this field. Second run for new yard. WOZA MADODA has been expensive to follow. Follow but with utmost caution. GOLDEN MAN disappointed last time but runs well over this distance. MENDOZA'S MELODY came close to causing an upset last time. Chance if making the same effort. ANALYSE THIS needs to find earlier form.
RACE 9:
1-7-4-6-9
GREY'S A ROCKING is finding form again. Respect yard and jockey. RIVER EMPRESS found a very good finish in an improved run last time. KANONKOP is never far back. Has been troubled by respiratory noises. COMMODORE AL has the blinkers removed this afternoon. SAVETHELASTDANCE has the blinkers fitted this afternoon. Needs to break on terms.
