The three year old daughter of DYNASTY, BELA-BELA confirmed her class when she won the R1 000 000 Grade 1 Woolavington in impressive style. She fought with her jockey Anthony Delpech on the way down to the start, but that made absolutely no difference to her performance.

This was a classy field of aspiring fillies and the finish was nothing short of  breathtaking. The field broke well at the 2000m marker. WITCHCRAFT was the first to break from RULER OF THE SKY with NEGROAMARO next best. It took 100m before NEGROAMARO took the lead and held onto that lead until the 200m mark. The two market rivals, BELA-BELA and NIGHTINGALE ran beside each other for most of the race and were well settled by their jockeys throughout the race. HEAPS OF FUN fought with her rider in the early stages and this may have taken something out of in the latter stages.

NEGROAMARO led them into the home straight but began to cry out for the line and the 2000m for now seems to be a little too far. BELA-BELA was always travelling well and it came as no real surprise when the daughter of DYNASTY hit the front with about 150m to go, reminiscent of her father's finish in the July in 2003. NEGROAMARO was in no way disgraced in second while both NIGHTINGALE and HEAPS OF FUN finished almost side by side with the latter two finishing well in the latter stages.

In the post race interview Anthony Delpech said that this would be the second best filly, next to IGUGU, he has ever ridden and she has a bright future. This was her fourth win from six starts. The win has pushed her earnings to beyond the R1 000 000 mark. Her trainer, Justin Snaith, who said that he was blessed to have such  a filly in his yard. He added that he has not taken any decision as to her future races during the Winter Season.
